Good Morning!
I just wanted to share with you all a little story of something beautiful that I witnessed during the Covid-19 pandemic:
Once upon a time, it was a rainy day, and I was standing outside. I was walking around in my backyard, since Covid-19 restrictions limited how much we could go out in public. As I was standing on the deck near some tall sunflower plants, guess what I saw? Looking down, I saw a beautiful, yet badly injured butterfly resting on the ground. I felt so sorry for it. I noticed that it was missing a huge part of one of its bottom wings. In fact, the bottom half of one side was almost completely gone, if I remember correctly. With it being wet outside, I thought it would surely not make it. With great pity, I prayed a simple prayer, something like, “God, please let this thing live.” and instantly, suddenly… The butterfly flew!
I was so shocked at the sight. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This butterfly began flapping its wings and flying from the ground all the way to the sky. It kept flying at least four feet above me and higher… even in the drizzling rain! I was so touched during that moment. For some reason, that butterfly reminded me a lot of myself. During that time, I honestly was going through some depression (as I am sure many of us were during the Covid pandemic). But, it was more so an accumulation of multiple trials in my past which perhaps made me feel like this butterfly. Maybe, after experiencing several difficult situations, I felt like a piece of me was broken. Maybe you can relate.
The wonderful reminder for me was, even though I may feel broken, God is not done with me yet. I still have great purpose in this life – and so do you! I couldn’t help but think that, even though the butterfly was missing half a wing, it still could fly, and would probably make little caterpillars one day. It still had life, and it still had a purpose.
No matter what you may have gone through in this life, or great loss you may have experienced, I hope this may encourage you to keep going. Know that you can still fly and do beautiful things in this life, even with a missing wing.

A few encouraging verses for your flight:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me… For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
